EFFECTIVENESS OF ROLE-PLAYING ACTIVITIES IN ENHANCING SOCIOLINGUISTIC COMPETENCE IN KARAKALPAKSTAN SCHOOLS
Referat
This study explores the impact of role-playing activities on developing sociolinguistic competence (SLC) among A2-level learners in Karakalpakstan schools. Conducted over two years in five schools, the research implemented a methodological manual emphasizing real-world communication scenarios. Pre- and post-tests revealed significant improvements in students’ pragmatic awareness, contextual appropriateness, and interaction skills, with urban schools showing higher gains due to resource advantages. Qualitative feedback highlighted increased engagement and confidence among students. Despite challenges like limited resources and teacher preparedness, the study underscores the transformative potential of role-playing in language education, particularly in multilingual and under-resourced contexts.
