SOCIOLINGUISTIC FEATURES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK DIGITAL DISCOURSE

TO'LIQ MATN:

Referat

This study examines the sociolinguistic variations in digital discourse between English and Uzbek languages, focusing on platforms like Telegram. The research explores how language use differs based on cultural, social, and contextual factors. Key areas of analysis include code-switching, formality versus informality, script usage, and the role of borrowed words. English digital communication often involves informal expressions, emojis, and cultural references, whereas Uzbek digital discourse reflects a blend of traditional politeness, frequent code-switching (especially with Russian), and the use of both Cyrillic and Latin scripts. The study highlights how sociolinguistic variations shape online interactions, reflecting broader cultural and linguistic dynamics.
